Elle peut garantir de bons r\u00e9sultats oncologique et esth\u00e9tique \u00e0 condition que la marge d\u2019ex\u00e9r\u00e8se (c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la limite physique entre le tissu tumoral et le tissu sain) ne soit pas dans le tissu tumoral. Cependant, la difficult\u00e9 des chirurgiens \u00e0 d\u00e9finir pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment cette marge entra\u00eene un taux de r\u00e9-op\u00e9ration de 10 \u00e0 30%.<\/p>\n<p>La recherche actuelle men\u00e9e par le partenaire ULi\u00e8ge-Montefiore a pour but de proposer une solution \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me. Il investigue notamment le potentiel de la technologie t\u00e9rahertz (THz) \u00e0 d\u00e9finir, de fa\u00e7ons pr\u00e9cise, valid\u00e9e, et reproductible, ces marges.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce contexte, des premi\u00e8res mesures THz (en modes r\u00e9flexion et transmission) sur des \u00e9chantillons du cancer de sein provenant de biopsies ont \u00e9t\u00e9 obtenues en utilisant le syst\u00e8me de spectroscopie dans le domaine temporel et d\u2019imagerie THz d\u2019ULi\u00e8ge-Montefiore. Les deux images t\u00e9rahertz ont \u00e9t\u00e9 obtenues \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quence 0.97 THz \u00e0 la 1i\u00e8re session (gauche) et \u00e0 la 2i\u00e8me session (droite).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Domaine agro-alimentaire:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9veloppement de la technologie THz pour le contr\u00f4le de la qualit\u00e9 des f\u00e8ves de cacao :\u00a0Dans le cadre d\u2019un partenariat de recherche avec une universit\u00e9 du Br\u00e9sil (Projet de recherche international Belcobra, financement WBI\/CAPES), la technologie THz a \u00e9t\u00e9 envisag\u00e9e afin de caract\u00e9riser le stade de fermentation de f\u00e8ves de cacao. Des essais en transmission et r\u00e9flexion sont en cours.
